We spent the weekend with 60 girls at Norwich High School and carried out our very first school-based hack. We always aim to have a laugh at our Hackathons and the weekend of 27th and 28th September was such a hoot! The girls had chosen to come along on their weekend to dabble in the programming world, they spanned across all year groups and they all had differing levels of tech knowledge. Stemettes’ Spring Hack was held at Bloomberg last week and it was a HUGE success. Over the course of two days, countless apps were built, quizzes made, and cats were shaken*. On a crisp Saturday morning, the Stemettes descended on The Crystal building in Docklands – a building dedicated to Siemen’s Future Cities Initiative, who were to host us for the entire day. Across the building ten STEM workshops had been set up. The girls were divided into groups and spent the day rotating around these workshops: 1.
