We’ve spent most of this month reflecting on our impact and taking stock of what we do, how we do things and who is doing them. Since January this year, we’ve had over 400 girls at panel events, hackathons and our ‘Stemettes in Schools’ workshops – Tap & Tinker at school premises and STEM in a Day at STEM workplaces. It was Saturday afternoon, 7th December 2013 and about 40 girls, parents and Stemettes met at Makers Academy HQ, on London’s Silicon Roundabout (above Old Street Station). We had mince pies, Christmas tunes and six Big Stemettes who were there to share their journeys, stories and advice on careers in STEM.
