BITESIZE BRIEF:

As a Data Analyst, your role is to ascertain how data can be used in order to answer questions and solve problems. You will be responsible for requirement-gathering, inspecting, cleansing, transforming and modelling data with the goal of discovering useful information, informing conclusions and supporting decision-making. You will need to have strong communication skills as you will be liaising and sharing your work with different stakeholders. You will also need a good eye for details as you will be working with a lot of data and information that requires accuracy when handling the workload.

Programme Duration 36 months + EPA (typically 6 months)
Qualification & Level Undergraduate Degree – BSc (Hons) Digital & Technology Solutions (Data Analyst pathway)
Weekly Working Hours 40 Hours a week
Office Type Corporate and Customer Fulfilment – office based
Training Breakdown Blended and Work-based Learning. Including, Face to Face workshops, digital learning and self-study.
Required Skills & Qualifications At least 5 GCSEs C grade (grade 4) or above including Maths and English plus any of the following:

 

  • 2 A Level passes (A-E) in 1 or more STEM subject, or
  • BTEC extended diploma in a similar subject or STEM T-Level Grades in a similar subject, or
  • Level 3 Apprenticeship at Pass in an appropriate discipline

Note: “Similar subject” relates to areas directly relevant to STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Mathematics) subjects.

You must NOT already have a qualification in a similar subject at the same or higher level than this apprenticeship

  • analyse data sets taking account of different data structures and database designs
  • assess the impact of user experience and domain context on data analysis activity
  • identify data sources and the risks and challenges to combination within data analysis activity
  • select and apply the most appropriate data tools to achieve the optimum outcome

The BSc (Hons) Digital and Technology Solutions Degree Apprenticeship is a modern University program which allows the Apprentice to achieve an undergraduate qualification as well as industry recognised qualifications. Alongside online learning, work-based elements are completed over the course of the Apprenticeship to apply new knowledge to real projects. Professional Practice modules allow Apprentices to tailor the programme to their work environments – supporting organisational goals as skills are developed.

You will work towards the BSc (Hons) Digital & Technology Solutions

Upon successful completion of the Data Analyst Degree program an Apprentice will be able to apply for a promotion within a Data Analyst full time role or seek other opportunities globally across Amazon and AWS.
