All Of The Study Tips You’ll Ever Need To Know

Advice

In this era of instant gratification, studying without losing interest seems to be impossible. So, in order to combat this constant pull of distractions (social media, streaming platforms, or doom scrolling), it’s essential to build solid organisational habits that support focused, effective studying. Here are some practical organisation tips to help you stay on track from our work experience!

  • Keep a set of goals. Before you start studying, you should know what you want to get out of the study session. So, before studying, create a list of tasks or topics that you want to complete or understand better by the end of your study session. – Ellie and Bernie
  • Create a Study timetable. Organise your subjects into a timetable to help you allocate enough time to study all the topics. – Ellie and Bernie
  • Designate a study space. Creating a space for your work can help create a more focused mindset whilst studying.  – Ellie and Bernie
  • Put the phone down. Sometimes your parents are right, and it is that darn phone. Spend some time away from your phone to help you focus better during your studies. – Ellie and Bernie
  • Always regularly declutter your workspace. Don’t allow it to pile up, as that can result in a cluttered, overwhelming mess that’s even more of a hassle to eventually tidy. For example, when you are done reading a book, put it back in its original place, instead of leaving it on the floor. These tiny acts will pile up and make it much easier to maintain a clean work environment for the future. Your future self will thank the past you for maintaining your area and putting in that slightest bit of effort. – Patricia/li>
  • Use the Pomodoro technique. The Pomodoro technique can help you complete that to-do list in the corner of your room covered in dust and spider webs! This is a time-management technique where you allocate short intervals of time (e.g., 25 minutes) with short breaks (e.g., 5 minutes) to complete a task.  You can use your phone’s stopwatch to track time, or there are apps such as Study Bunny and Forest. – Keerthana
