Who is Luisa?
Luisa is an inspiring climate activist from Germany. As of 2025, Luisa is 29 years old, and she has done so much in such a short time! Her desire to make a big difference began in 2018, when she met another inspiring climate activist, Greta Thunberg. From this initial meeting, they both founded and organised the school strike for climate change in Germany, which is now known as the ‘Fridays for Future’ movement. It is a huge movement, still going today, that sees school children skip Friday classes so they can demand action for climate change. A year later in 2019, Luisa graduated with a degree in Geography and wrote a book called “From the end of the climate crisis – a story of our future”!

What is Luisa doing now?
Since her work on the Fridays for Future movement, she hasn’t stopped her climate change advocacy work. She regularly meets with heads of state, government members and other high-status individuals to discuss climate matters. She attends protests, podcasts and UN climate conferences all to promote what she believes in. Luisa’s motivation is inspiring to all of us. She is a reminder to speak up for what you believe in. Climate change is becoming more and more important every day. Is there a small action you can take today to make sure you’re making a sustainable difference in protecting our planet?
