Yay – you’re getting back into education! It’s super exciting, but it can also feel really daunting. We’ve been there, so we’re sharing some helpful tips to ease the transition and set yourself up for success.

  1. Ease Into a Routine. First things first, let’s get back into a routine! Start adjusting your sleep schedule and daily habits a couple of weeks before the course begins. A steady routine will help you feel more grounded and ready to tackle the change in schedule when it comes.
  2. Refresh Your Skills. Let’s dust off those old textbooks! This is a great time to brush up on reading, writing, or subject-specific skills that can give you a confidence boost. So, what could you explore? How about free online courses, podcasts, or university resources? There are plenty of low-pressure ways to get back into the swing of things.
  3. Set Realistic Goals. Take it one step at a time. Can we set small, achievable goals to help build momentum? Plus, ticking them off usually feels great!
  4. Get Organised. Do you love organisation? Now is the time to sort your study space, gather supplies, and keep a planner or digital calendar handy. Staying organised can ease anxiety and help you stay on top of deadlines.
  5. Ask for Support. Why not reach out to tutors, mentors, or classmates if you’re unsure about anything? Most institutions offer academic and well-being support, and there’s no shame in using it before and during your course!
  6. Be Kind to Yourself. There may be bumps along the way, and that’s perfectly okay. Remember that returning to education is a big step, and one you should be proud of.

Whether you’re returning to school, college, or university, your life experience is a strength, not a setback. With a little preparation and a positive mindset, you’re more ready than you think!
