If you think of aviation careers, what comes to your mind? Is it a Pilot? Perhaps a Flight Attendant? Laura is here to tell you that there are so many more options out there for you to consider!

Laura is a trained Aerospace Design Engineer, which means she is responsible for the designing and testing of multiple different parts of an aeroplane.
Laura has always loved working within the aerospace and aviation sector, and during her time she has contributed to several different projects, with her favourite being cockpit design (she explains the cockpit as a more complicated driver’s seat of a car).

Her current role is in Programme Integration. Because there are often a lot of different teams working together to create a safe and functioning aeroplane, Laura needs to bring all of these different teams together.
Even though she tells us that she loves the role she is currently in, she has also had around 10 other roles within engineering, as she loves to be challenged and given a chance to grow and explore. How is this possible? Well, Laura tells us that having an engineering degree opens up a plethora of opportunities for your career and therefore gives you the chance to change your job if you ever become bored!
So, would you consider a career in engineering similar to Laura’s?
