I wish I knew more about internships and placement years with various tech companies and not only tech when I was in university. I moved countries and I was working to support myself so it never occurred to me to look for internships. Looking back, I would have greatly benefited from the tech exposure and experience when joining my first tech role if I would have done that in my university years.

I wish I used more of the opportunities I was offered at university, going to coding classes, learning how to build a website and other free things that many universities offers! Don’t just focus on your degree but take time to broaden your learning. Start learning a new language, keep taking photos etc. don’t let your work/degree consume your entire life!

– Orlane, Chemistry student
