Looking to make a positive impact on the world? Join us in London on October 7th, 2023, to enjoy a STEMtastic hackathon designed exclusively for girls, young women, and non-binary individuals aged 5-25. In groups, we will develop an innovative app or website that harnesses the power of AI to bring about meaningful change. Explore ideas that revolve around environmental sustainability, promoting health and well-being, or creating social good. This is your chance to solve and shape a better future!
We will kick off our free, fun, food-filled event with a welcome from Stemettes and a keynote speech from Insight. Then, we will jump right into the task at hand, exploring the tools we can use and the ideas we have. After lunch, we will continue hacking and shaping our ideas whilst meeting and learning from STEAM industry role models. Before we end, we will showcase our ideas to a panel of experts, gaining insider feedback and a chance at exclusive prizes! We will end the day with goody bags, a CV-boosting opportunity and new friends.
“I’ve always wanted to be a part of STEAM. Stemettes is just giving me opportunities to put it into practice.” – Soraya
“I learned how much confidence I had in me. I really enjoyed the event and had fun when presenting our team app to the judges.” – Sabrina
I don’t have any experience coding, can I still join?
Of course! Our hacks are suitable for anyone – no matter their experience level. We will have a variety of tools for you to use and help at hand for the entire day.
How do I prepare?
After signing up, take a look at our list of questions to ask a role model ahead of the day, and read these articles about the impact tech has on our environment and how we can use AI for good.
The Stemettes Zine is a curated space tailored specifically to Stemettes but we have plenty of content and updates for you folks too.
