During the spring half-term break of 2022, Stemettes ran their Easter Explore programme over two weeks. Each week offered a 4-day free, virtual programme for young women and non-binary folks to learn from and network with STEM role models.
Sessions were split into three age streams: Junior (7-11 years old); Connect (12-15 years old); and Academy (16-21 years old). Each group attended live morning lectures with role models tailored to their age. The afternoon offered downtime activities and Instagram Live sessions for all age groups.
Academy and Connect groups also had networking sessions with STEM role models and group work sessions. Connect was tasked with researching a STEM topic to present at the end of the week, while the Academy stream worked towards their Cisco Cyber Certification.

Stemettes were partnered by SAP and ION for one-day takeovers during the event. Participants met STEM-amazing role models from their companies to inspire and network with.
What did participants think?
They rated Easter Explore 9 out of 10.
They were asked to rate their improvement in our impact metrics after the event with the following results:
- 100% felt their knowledge of STEM improved
- 95% felt their perception of STEM improved
- 95% felt their awareness of STEM career options improved

Junior participants said their favourite part of the programme was learning new things and hearing how role models overcame problems, as well as the downtime activities.
Connect participants enjoyed the speed networking; connecting with people and getting to know about so many careers.
Academy participants thought the group study sessions brought flexibility and independence to their learning throughout the week.
