Stemettes Hack London @ DXC Technology

The girls aged 5-22 learnt the basics of HTML and UX design. The girls used either Appshed, Appinventor or Glitch to build their apps and presented them to the judges.

Fantastic feedback included, one of our attendees declaring their love of ‘creating an entire project from scratch’.

  • 94% of attendees would like to come again.
  • The girls rated the event a 9.2 out of 10.
  • 82% of attendees are interested in coding in the future.
  • 100% of attendees stated their network in STEM improved.

Another one of our attendees explained ‘I’m not one to sit through talks and stuff. I prefer doing things. So I think this task, and then the fact that they provided lunch and things, it’s nice.

Congratulations to our People’s Choice winner’ Recycling Plastic Thing’ by Cia, and our Judge’s Winner’ Share 2 Care’ by Muhammad, Nusaybah and Sahlah. A further congratulations to the team ‘Socialising Sisters’ who will present at a DXC conference in December!
