Mental Health Awareness Week

For Mental Health Awareness Week, Stemettes ran a series of events from 10th-14th May to support and promote good mental health practices. Girls and non-binary people joined events that ranged from journaling and yoga to meditation and panel events.

Of those who took part in the TaskMaster activity, journaling and meditation, 100% said they would go to the session again.

It was amazing hearing about how useful it is to get support and also how normal it is to use it. I also enjoyed hearing about new ways to relieve exam stress.” – Meditation session attendee

“I found this session very beneficial for my happiness and mental health. I feel that although mindfulness sounds boring and just “breathing whatever blablabla”, I came to terms in this session that mindfulness has a positive impact on my mental health, and it is relaxing for my mind and body.”

  • 82% of all session attendees said they would attend another similar session
  • 86% of attendees spend at least 1 hour per week on the Stemettes Society
  • 41% of attendees spend more than 3 hours per week on Stemettes Society
