Esther: A Trip to Thorpe Park Means STEM!

It’s been 3 years since we started our Student to Stemette programme. To celebrate all the work done with young STEM women in partnership with Deutsche Bank Citizenship and their Born to Be programme, we’re running a blog series sharing what Sherpees have gained and been doing whilst being on the programme.

First up, Esther who was part of the London Cohort 5. Her Sherpa (mentor) was Naina from Deutsche Bank who is a Technology Analyst.

The next thing that had to be done?  An educational trip to … Thorpe Park! I must admit, taking my friends to Thorpe Park did have a little bit of an agenda as not only was I educating my friends on all the amazing engineering that goes behind creating such fun rides at Thorpe Park and the amount of STEM-related fields that are apart of it, we were having fun at the same time. Coming equipped, before going on every ride I told my friends just how much background work went into creating it.
