On 13th November 2022, Stemettes partnered with the Avantor Foundation to deliver a virtual summit for young women and non-binary folks in Ireland. The event consisted of Q&As with STEMazing role models and an interactive workshop to develop their STEM skills.
The afternoon gave the 13 participants a unique opportunity to network with role models from the Advantor Foundation, Team Stemette, and their peers.

What did participants think?
At the end of the event, participants were asked to rank their progress in key impact metrics:
- 100% felt their perception of STEM increased
- 100% felt their awareness of STEM career options increased
- 100% felt their network in STEM fields increased
- 100% felt their knowledge of STEM increased
“I am a lot more relaxed about the future. Prior to the event I was stressed about how difficult it would be to get into my chosen field but listening to the role models I realised that it is so easy to succeed if you are doing something you enjoy. Also, if you need to change career paths there is no need to panic. I wasn’t expecting my apprehensions about the future to be eased but they were. This was definitely an unexpected benefit.” – Summit Participant
Thank you to the Avantor Foundation and all the volunteers who supported the event.
