A brand new programme supported by Futuremakers by Standard Chartered over the summer holidays, to support young women and non-binary people, aged between 16-25 years old with great STEM ideas learn how to become entrepreneurs.
Are you looking for a summer programme to support your STEM career goals?
Outbox Entrepreneurs is the perfect programme for young women and non-binary young people who want to learn how to become entrepreneurs. You’ll tap into a wealth of knowledge and guidance from experienced professionals while building your own business in groups.
An initial two-week accelerator comprised of virtual and in-person intensive support to assist ideation and incubation of your idea.
A pitching day where five winning groups will be given generous grant funding for their business ideas with other participants receiving smaller grants too.
Ongoing support over a 9-month period between Summer 2022 and Spring 2023 in the form of professional mentoring and skills events.
Standard Chartered will be giving participants access to their purpose built innovation centre in London for group work on in-person days. Check it out.
What will the timetable look like?
The two-week accelerator will run from 10 – 24 August. Sessions will run online from 10 – 23 August with in-person sessions on 11th and 24th. No sessions will be held on 18th August due to A-Level results day.

Please note: As in person attendance is compulsory, we will cover all travel costs for you should you require. For virtual sessions, if you need it, we’ll send you a laptop for the entirety of the programme and cover travel costs.

Do I have to have a business idea beforehand?
We welcome ideas but applicants are not required to have a formulated business idea as a prerequisite. We will work together to develop this during the ideation period.
Will I be working with peers?
Yes! Applicants who are accepted into the Outbox Entrepreneurs programme will work in groups of 2-4. These groups will be built around students who are passionate about a particular topic.
Do I have to pay for travel?
No, we will cover travel expenses if you are accepted into the programme.
Help! I don’t have a laptop and/or Wifi at home
No problem, we can provide you with a laptop and dongle for the duration of the programme.
Do I need to be able to attend all of the sessions?
For the accelerator, it is crucial that you can attend all sessions including in-person sessions in Central London. If you have any accessibility requirements, feel free to discuss them with us at team@stemettes.org.
How much time do I have to commit to the nine months period after the initial two weeks?
This will be a combination of support from Stemettes and Standard Chartered that will be flexibly spread out over nine months.
