Create, Learn, Try Out: Connected Places Catapult and Birmingham City University in Birmingham

Join us on Saturday 18 May from 10:00–17:00 to create a product or business, learn about sustainability and try out different tech tools! This clean energy tech hackathon will also be a space to make new friends and connections. Exclusively for girls, young women and non-binary people aged 5–25. Come along for a free, fun, food-filled workshop in Birmingham and online.

We’ve got your child’s safety covered. TeamStemette is up-to-date with DBS checks and NSPCC training. Trust in us to provide a secure environment where exploring and learning STEAM is safe and fun.

 

Of course! All our events are open to all skill levels. Whether you’re comfortable with your skills and want to put them to the test, or you’re a curious beginner who is not sure what it’s all about.
We give the exact location once you've registered and onboarded for the event. This is to make sure everyone is kept safe.
Yes, of course. Please make sure they have signed up too, so we have all you need on the day. If you're under 15 and coming along, please bring a parent or guardian who is happy to stay at the event with you.
Yes! We're neurodiverse and disabled-friendly, and all our events prioritise accessibility and inclusivity for everyone who attends. Please let us know (by emailing team@stemettes.org) how we can remove barriers and offer necessary accommodations for you to enjoy our events.
To register, click the 'Register for this event' button at the top of this page. If you're 16–25, please sign-up using the main form and register using your email address. If you're 5–15 or a Parent/Guardian applying for your child, please submit your application form via the Parent/Guardian form. Register using the email address belonging to your Parent/Guardian. Teachers and Career Leaders who are interested in signing up their students should register their interest via the Teacher form.
We provide food at all our in-person events. If you have dietary requirements, let us know. We're happy to cater for you!
