Stemettes Scratch Workshop @ About Us

What?

This December, Stemettes invite you to a STEMtastic virtual workshop to introduce you to Scratch coding!

The Stemettes Scratch Workshop is a one hour event that will tap into your creativity and equip you with the skills to create your own Scratch animations.

Scratch is a free programming language commonly used in schools where you can create your own interactive stories, games, and animations. People all around the world use Scratch to create and refine their own code.

During the session, we will explain how to get started with a Scratch project, help you come up with ideas for animations and share useful tips and tricks.

Stemettes are running a Scratch competition as part of the About Us project with the main theme being about how we all connected. We aim to help you with a competition entry – if you so wish. There are lots of exciting prizes to be won if you use your animation to apply. We’d love for you to come along and take part!

Scratch coding ideas could include:

  • Space and cosmology
  • Cellular life
  • The animal kingdom
  • Ecosystems
  • The human body
  • Technology
  • Climate change

…or any other topic that reflects on how we are all connected!
