From 15th February, Stemettes ran a weeklong programme of online sessions during half term. The lectures, workshops and activities were open to women and non-binary people aged 7 to 20.
The sessions were split into three streams: Junior (ages 7 to 11), Connect (12 to 15), and Academy (16 to 20). Each stream had tailored sessions joined by STEM companies and organisations. The theme for the week was ‘preparation and focus’.
There was a total of 101 attendees across the week and Instagram Live Q&As had 1,518 live views during February Explore. The programme also offered the opportunity to achieve Cyber certification which 18 young people in the academy stream undertook.
The event not only improved STEM knowledge but was beneficial to attendees’ mental health, with 79% of attendees feeling their mental well-being had improved following February Explore
