We have been discussing research papers on inclusivity and machine learning, as well as pathways into different domains of computer science.
Just to say a huge thank you for the Stemillions box. Our girls have absolutely loved it and asked if we can run the session every week for the whole year!
Having the resources pre-prepared allows the girls to take real ownership of the sessions, and adds an element of suspense and excitement to each activity. The work is well-pitched and the girls have enjoyed it a lot.
The role models’ expertise was very relevant to our group project. The STEM role models were very kind and made us feel like equals.
My brain has been stretched and I have so many more ideas of what to do when I’m older.
I want to say how wonderful it was talking to such young and aspiring women who hope for a career in STEM based work.
I enjoyed learning about role models, making new friends, taking part in activities, and sharing my work.

My daughter took part in Outbox connect in the summer and thoroughly enjoyed it. She was initially quite reluctant but I persuaded her to give it a go and she got so much out of it she’s now considering a career in STEM, probably tech/coding – result! I’d just like to say a huge thank you for all you do, especially exposing girls to female role models – so important I feel!
I had so much fun! I learnt all about cool new career paths that I could pursue in the future, and after listening to all the inspiring and influential role models, my horizon of STEM careers expanded exponentially.
I’ve learnt how important women are as part of STEM. I also learnt that women can be powerful in STEM.
I was lucky enough to be part of the original Outbox Incubator cohort… I was very inspired by the Outbox experience and the Stemettes in general.
Partnering with a fantastic organisation like Stemettes gives us the opportunity to show young females, as they start out on their career path, that anything is possible and with a bit of help and confidence they can realise their huge potential.
