In 2022 Ørsted x East Coast Skills partnered with Stemillions to provide boxes to 10 schools and over 100 stemettes aged 4-11 across the East Midlands. Eight of the schools were located in Lincolnshire and two were located in Humberside.
The Stemillions boxes contained meal plans for teachers to take their students through, meeting STEM role models and taking part in STEM activities.
What did schools think?
100% of teachers enjoyed the meal plans and would recommend the programme.
Teachers responded to questions on Stemette impact metrics, seeing the following improvements:
- 100% felt their awareness of STEM career options improved
- 100% felt their network in STEM fields improved
- 100% felt their confidence in their STEM abilities improved
- 100% felt their knowledge of STEM improved
Teachers noticed unexpected benefits from the programme including an increase in confidence in their pupils and an improvement in their mental health.
