For our February Explore Programme we heard from a number of STEMazing cybersecurity professionals on how we can keep ourselves, and those around us, safe online. For this session, we heard from Holly Walker- A Perimeter Security Analyst at Schroeder’s.
On the 6th of August, Stemettes spoke to the STEMazing Holly Walker, a perimeter security engineer at Schroeder’s. She discussed with us the various ways in which organisations will protect their data online and how they detect attacks in real time in order to prevent damage.
Dr Jen Gupta is an astrophysicist (someone who uses physics to understand space) at The Institute of Cosmology and Gravitation at the University of Portsmouth who spoke to Stemettes on the 24th of August to discuss astronomy, light, and accessibility within the field.
On the 11th of August, Karisma and Mira from Bank of America spoke to us about their fast-paced jobs and busy lives, and how they incorporate self-care rituals and routines into their day to make sure they stay happy and healthy.
On the 17th of August, Jazmin, one of our Stemettes, walked us through how to use Tinkercad, a platform to create 3D designs. Being creative whilst working in STEAM is something that Jazmin is really passionate about, as she works as a freelance creative technologist as well as developing her own Virtual Reality experiences and text-based games.
